Due to rapid growth, our Computing category has opened an excellent opportunity for a Brand Expert (Assistant Buyer) to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Within this role you’ll be a dedicated point of contact for Microsoft and take responsibility for driving the Microsoft/Argos relationship to new levels, increasing sales and profitability of Microsoft and related products, driving revenue and delivering innovative marketing campaigns through various categories and Argos channels.
The role is truly cross-functional with significant bias towards commercial, marketing and digital. The Brand Expert is a generalist role and it is a privileged position to view both businesses through a number of different lenses which offers an ideal platform for career development.
Without a doubt, you’ll need experience in commercial/digital environment with a good understanding of online markets. You’ll need a flair for innovative and analytical thinking and some impressive negotiation skills as well.
Full Microsoft training and induction will be provided.
As a Brand Expert your main responsibilities will be:
Acting as a dedicated point of contact for Microsoft within Argos, Conducting weekly meetings with the Microsoft account team
Developing, launching and managing successful product ranges and campaigns
Delivering increased Microsoft revenues in Argos through internal and external negotiation and influencing key stakeholders
Analysis and reporting of sales and other measures to Microsoft to trigger rebate payments
Shaping and implementing the strategic direction and plans whilst supporting the delivery of Microsoft’s financial KPIs across multiple functions and categories (Buying, Supply Chain, Digital, Marketing and Product Information, in Computing, Office, VGS and Accessory products)
As a Brand Expert your skills & experience will ideally include:
Educated to degree level
Experience in commercial and/or digital/marketing function
Analytical mind-set with flair for innovative thinking
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
Ability to work at pace with multiple priorities
Highly proficient in MS Excel
