As a Videographer at Bradwell Media (Home Retail Group’s specialist photographic and video studio), I’ve got quite a broad remit. I work on everything from product reviews for Argos’ website to training and departmental videos. It’s whatever video production’s needed really.
“Before this role, I was a full-time photographer for Argos. I’d been doing freelance work for them on-and-off for about 20 years, then I decided to go for a permanent position. It had always seemed a great place to work: everyone was friendly, and you were given quite a lot of creative freedom on projects. I didn’t expect career progression in the job though. I thought: when you’re a photographer, you’re a photographer. But they gave me the chance to learn new skills and before long I moved into my current role.”
“I’m glad I made the move. I’m learning and developing all the time, and the team has been a great success: we’ve grown enormously over the last couple of years. It started out with just two of us, and now we’ve got a whole industrial unit, with between 12 and 15 people at any given time. And there’s still a great atmosphere: relaxed, but professional. We know how to enjoy ourselves, but we also all know the part we have to play, so the job always gets done.”
